We had a rainy week, so it was the perfect time to go on a mushroom hunt (and the joy on the kids faces when we found some was priceless).

My favorite thing was learning a little more about Beatrix Potter and her love for Fungi. ❤️

We had so much fun with the activities and it was a great introduction to how our government works. So thankful for the little things today.

Like, having a normal school day after having no power for 5 days from Hurricane Helene. 🌀 We were blessed to have no damage to our home, but our community is hurting. We have a long road to recovery, but I know we’re all thankful it wasn’t worse. Others are less fortunate and our heart goes out to them. ❤️

Today for school, we slowed down with a Barn Owl study. We spent the morning studying Barn Owls, making a fun owl snack, and dissected our own owl pellets! 🦉 The kids had so much fun and it was the perfect slow moment we needed after the week we had.

Happy birthday, Rhett. I can’t believe you’re 7! ✨

I sure am lucky to be this little boys mama. He is thoughtful, kind, and funny. He’s also very curious and I love his desire to learn (even if it means I have to answer a million questions and that he take’s all my stuff apart to figure out how it works 🤪). When he grows up he wants to be an astronaut or a tornado chaser, and I have no doubt he’ll do something amazing. ❤️

We planned to go to the Wild Robot movie 🤖 with our friends this weekend, but things didn’t go as planned with Hurricane Helene. I’m thankful we’re safe though and that I was able to make him a cake really quick last night though. 🎂
